Diagnostic Tool

Imaging shows the structure. Functional testing shows what your structure does to your day.

Two patients can have nearly identical DMX findings and completely different symptom patterns. The functional intake captures the difference: which positions, movements, and times of day correlate with your real-world experience.

What it is

Dynamic functional testing is a structured intake (part questionnaire, part guided movement assessment) that maps your symptoms against specific positions, movements, and activities. Where do you feel best? Where does it flare? What position lets you sleep? What movement triggers the dizziness?

This is the bridge between what we see on imaging and what you feel in your real life. Both are needed for an accurate plan.

What to expect

We'll spend 20–30 minutes walking through your symptom patterns systematically. You'll do some specific movements while we observe and ask follow-up questions. We're not testing strength or fitness. We're mapping how your structure behaves under different loads.

Bring whatever notes you've kept about what makes things better or worse. The more we know, the more precise the plan.

Who it helps most

Functional testing is part of every new patient evaluation. It's especially valuable when: - Symptoms vary dramatically by position or time of day - Standard imaging didn't fully match how you feel - You've had multiple opinions that didn't connect - Activity triggers are unclear and we need to map them
